BCube ADSL Broadband Internet Service

Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL), a state owned premier telephone company, to fulfill government’s pledge to provide access to affordable and effective internet connectivity all over the country has launched broadband services under brand name ‘BCube’ through its existing fixed phone connections.

‘BCube’ Broadband service is provided by world class, time proven high speed & reliable ADSL2+ technology. In the first phase internet service is offered and later phases BTCL will offer more services viz IPTV, Video on Demand (VOD), on-line gaming etc through the same connectivity.

ADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. It is a technology that allows copper telephone pairs to be used to provide a high speed broadband connection. It provides ‘always-on’ Internet connection that is automatically established once the PC and ADSL modem are switched on. ADSL broadband is asymmetric because data arriving at your computer arrives faster than data leaving your computer, which is why ADSL packages always quote higher download speeds compared to upload speeds.

BTCL has appointed Systems & Services Limited for Sales and Customer Support of its ADSL Broadband Service. BTCL has introduced broadband internet service through ADSL technology for its existing fixed phone subscribers starting from 128 kbps to 2Mbps.
